I was first exposed to weight training at 16 via my coaches but like most, was given very little instruction and guidance. I didn’t get my first real taste of a sophisticated Strength & Conditioning program until my time at Washington State University. With that guidance I found an enhanced love for fitness, becoming stronger, and seeing those results translate into my sport. Unfortunately in my Senior year I experienced a lower back injury, and what started as a time period allowing my body to heal turned into over a year without any focus on fitness in my life. After reaching my heaviest weight I decided to make a change. I studied and became a Certified Functional Strength Coach, found a mentor who exposed me to functional fitness training methodologies, and I lost 20 pounds while mending my body and harnessing my craft. My training ideology follows a functional fitness model that first teaches the body HOW to move, followed by strengthening the patterns. Ultimately this allows us to produce results no matter your current level of fitness or performance. Where you’re a high-performance athlete trying to get that one percent bump or you are just needing to take that first step into a healthier lifestyle, I am prepared to be your coach and would be proud to mentor you all the way to, and past your goals!
